Alberta Pilot Project for Spouses of Long-Haul Truck Driver

2010, inclusively. This refers only to the period in which qualifying work
permits can be issued, not the duration of work permits. These terms will only

lang=EN-US>Applicants for the open work permit must be a spouse or common law
partner of the principal applicant; and the principal applicant must hold a
valid work permit to work in Alberta as a long haul truck driver.

partner of long haul truck driver and without requiring an LMO from Service
Canada.

lang=EN-US>Spouse/ common law partner's work permit can only be issued after the
primary applicant has been found to be eligible for a work permit. They can
apply concurrently with the principal applicant's application either overseas,
or at the port of entry, if applicable. It can also be applied in Case
Processing Centre in Vegreville for an open LMO exempt style="mso-spacerun: yes">  work permit if spouse accompanied
principal applicant into Canada as visitor.

lang=EN-US>Duration of the work permit issued to the spouse/ common law partner
cannot exceed the expiry date of the work permit of the principal applicant. If
the work permit of the principal applicant is extended, the work permit of the
spouse/ common law partner can be extended upon application.
